Public should trust architects the same way they trust a doctor or a car manufacturer or clothing designer. How do they believe in terms such as “fashionable”, “trendy” and “lifestyle”.
An architectural work is as expensive and visible as a car. How often do you request for a specific letter from calf skin with specific tread for stitching it around the steering wheel of your car?
There are far more visible things that the nation should be concerned. Like their prime minister face and hair style or his suite why not hold a public meeting for his blue suit?
If public is concerned about image of a nation, national identity and values why we don’t attempt to preserve our Boreal forest. Landscapes are not any of our concerns? Why do we focus on one building when oil industry is destroying beautiful landscapes?
